Full markdown support
GFM tables, task lists, footnotes, definition lists, heading IDs, highlight (
==text==), subscript / superscript, emoji shortcodes, auto-linking. Renders the same in WYSIWYG, raw, and exported PDF. -
Word-style tables
Grid picker to insert. Right-click any cell for insert / delete row / column, column alignment, header row toggle. Drag column borders to resize.

Find in document
⌘/Ctrl + F opens an instant find bar. Live highlight of every match, current one in orange, Enter / Shift+Enter to navigate. Works in both modes.

Folder workspace
Open a directory; the sidebar becomes a fast file browser. Tabs across the top, recent files in the menu.

Export to PDF
One shortcut, native print pipeline, sane defaults. Footnotes collected at the bottom of the document with clickable backlinks.

Theming, zoom, spellcheck
Light / dark / follow-system theme. ⌘/Ctrl + scroll for zoom. Right-click misspellings for OS suggestions; code blocks are skipped.

Native menus + shortcuts
New, Open, Save, Save As, Close, all wired to the keys you already know. Mac and Windows look like they should.
Build it yourself
Hash Markup is MIT-licensed and the source is public. If you don't trust binaries from the internet, clone the repo and build your own copy. Instructions are in the README.
Heads up: early Windows releases are signed under a new publisher identity (David Soden) that hasn't accumulated SmartScreen reputation yet. The first download may show a "Windows protected your PC" warning. Click More info → Run anyway. Reputation builds with downloads over time.

Mac builds are unsigned at this stage. On first launch, right-click the app and choose Open to bypass Gatekeeper once. Signing and notarization are on the roadmap.
